Hendi Center Koloseum are recognized as one of the ways the inclusion of people with disabilities into society through film, music, art ...

16. april 2014.

Delta Foundation has supported this year BOSIFEST in 2014. Ljiljana Jevremovic the Delta Foundation, we talked about the mission of this Foundation, on the most important projects and why they decided to support Hendi Center Koloseum who founded BOSIFEST.

Delta Foundation was established in 2007. Can you tell us a bit more about the purpose and mission of the Delta Foundation?

Delta Foundation was founded with the goal of Delta Holding, within their power, integrated and strategic, efficient and thorough contribute to the development and advancement of society as a whole. The mission of the Foundation is a permanent solution to the problems of the community in the field of social welfare, education, culture. Since the foundation initiates and implements projects that are designed for children without parental care, persons with disabilities (PWDs), students, educational and cultural institutions. Within the Delta Foundation and its activities special attention to extract support for people with disabilities.

What actions would you single out and have future plans when it comes to support for people with disabilities?

Supporting institutions in the social welfare system, the government and NGOs, the Foundation contributes to the inclusion of persons with disabilities in social and working life and raising awareness about their capabilities. As the most important project we emphasize the construction of the first endowments Delta Holding, the Center for living and accommodation of people with disabilities, "Sun" in Bezanijska kosa, we donated Belgrade 2012. In 2014. was planned construction of the second endowment Delta Holding in Kragujevac, Center for sport and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities. The project is implemented in cooperation with the Paralympic club "Junior" and the city of Kragujevac.

We would also emphasized some of the projects:

· Donation vans school "Anton Skala", University Centre for Students with Disabilities and the ambulance for a home in Kulina

· Working inclusion and employment of persons with disabilities

· Reconstruction of the living room "Meeting place", awarded Virtus Award

· Let us help your heart (providing day care for people with disabilities in Serbia)

· There is always room for good things and good people (help Primary and Secondary Education of People with Disabilities)

· Supporting blind association "Homer" (film adaptation for the visually impaired)

· Support Paralympic Academy "Junior" (sports grants)

· Organizing workshops on assistive technologies (training Daniel Kish on echolocation for the visually impaired, Soundbeam, educational brochures about autism)

Why did you decide to support Hendi Center Koloseum organized film festival BOSIFEST?

Cooperation with Hendi Center Koloseum  was launched in 2010. when the Delta Foundation supported the first Belgrade Film Festival persons with disabilities. We recognized it as one of the ways the inclusion of people with disabilities into society through film, music, art ... How BOSIFEST the only film festival of its kind in South-East Europe is that we, together with the organizer provides full support PWDs and become a country that allows their integration into all social life.

What are your experiences when talking about the situation of people with disabilities, with the problems and prejudices they face?

People with disabilities in Serbia mainly live on the margins of society. Because of inequality, they can not achieve all of its capacity. Because we are a large part of our humanitarian activities focused on the adaptation of living rooms, donated a vans with a ramp, working on accessibility Delta Holding office buildings and retail stores, and on the identification and recognition of their capabilities.

One of the problems faced by PWDs is employment. With a view to provide opportunities for active participation in the labor and social movements, Delta Foundation at Delta launched a project labor inclusion and employment of persons with disabilities. The company is currently at various positions for 53 people with disabilities.

Jelena Gavrilovic, director and selector of BOSIFEST 2015

29. april 2015.

I was chosing films after which something changed in me, films that make me think about them for days

This year has arrived far more films than last year and the quality is generally at a higher level. This is proof that the festival is growing and I'm glad I'm a part of it.

What is crucial criteria in selecting films that audience will watch at BOSIFEST 2015?

I have endeavored to choose movies as diverse as possible by theme and style, films that are authentic and offer a new perspective, which are funny and honest. There is emotion, but also a satisfying technical aspect ... In short - I’ve selected the films after which something changed inside me and about I have been thinking for days after. It was important to me to chose provocative movies that you will really enjoy watching and like it very much, or do not like at all, but films you want to discuss about.

Why did you decide to be for the second time selector of BOSIFEST?

Festival director Darko Ivic invited me again to be a selector, and I immediately agreed. Last year's experience has remained in my very best memory.

How does seem selector’s work, can you describe to us the process that was most interesting and the most difficult part of this process?

Every free minute in my day I use to watch a movie. When I have, for example, the whole day free, sometimes I watch thirty films in a row. The most beautiful part of the process is when I get tired of watching, and then I come across a very interesting film that gives me the energy to look further. The hardest part is staring at the monitor for hours.

To someone who has never had the opportunity to see films at BOSIFEST, how will you in the shortest describe and recommend BOSIFEST?

I would say that the festival will be held from 1st to 3rd June in Belgrade Youth Centre in three terms and that the projections are free. In selection are very interesting films, documentaries, short and long films. I would also recommend to take a look at the program of the festival on the site because people will certainly find something be intrigued. And when the time comes for the festival - don’t be lazy and really look at what you have planned.

Word from the selector:Jelena Gavrilovic

29. april 2015.

For the second year in a row, I work as a selector of BOSIFEST, and I'm very happy to be a part of something that grows. This year arrived almost twice as many films than last, so the criteria of the selection increasedI tried to choose the most striking films, with elements that stayed in memory. I’ve been thinking and I can freely said - that films have changed me as a viewerI was looking for films that provide a new perspective, a new artistic approach or simply a new story that we have not heard. The choice is variegated, some films deal with characters who are faced with their own sexuality, some with serious issues through comedy, some are visually innovative, while others simply portray charismatic heroes and skillfully reveal their intimate worlds... What is certain, this year you will have great opportunity to see films which on humane way deal with important issues, without false sentimentality, but realistically and honestly. These films communicate with the audience, do not underestimate it nor courting themI suggest everyone to take a look at the program of the festival and find a movie for yourself.Enjoy!

Movies with great optimism

01. februar 2015.

"The festival which are filmmakers persons with disabilities or movies talk about people with disabilities enables us to meet with their problems, talent, courage and to show them respect. Professor Emir Kusturica said that the film is larger than life, and it seems to me that this festival is bigger than the film - said Ivan Tasovac, Minister of Culture, at the opening of this year's BOSIFEST held from 2nd to 4th June at the Youth Center Belgrade .

Press and decisions of the jury

06. januar 2015.

We were honored both personally  and  professionally by been named as the jury and given the possibility of insight into a remarkable festival program, because-of the16 films competing for the prize more than half deserves very good, even excellent reviews! Inevitably there is a great dilemma upon the jury of this festival: whether to put in first plan films dedicated to the most severe disabilities, bitterlife stories or the highest quality films.Pursuant to just brave human attitude that disabled persons do not love and respect pity - we opted for the second option: quality films. Program, as we already said, was full of films with high artistic quality, not only thematic. And what is beautiful and most important, all these quality films exude great optimism seen in characters, actors, authors. Bravo! This selection of films has managed to avoid one often discernible trap at the festivals of documentary films: mixing ordinary television or videos with art docu film! In this program - over 90% of movies are just art docu films with some extremely interesting details.
